Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need any martial arts experience?

Not at all. Most of our students start with no experience, and every class is built so that beginners can follow along from the first minute. You work at your own pace, with instructors who show you each step.

How does the free trial class work?

Fill in the form on this page and tell us who will be training: you, your child, or both. We will get back to you to pick a class that suits your age and goals. Come to the class, try it out, meet the team, and decide afterwards. There is no pressure and no obligation.

What should I wear and bring?

Comfortable athletic clothing that lets you move, such as a T-shirt and shorts or leggings, and a water bottle. We train barefoot on the mats. Uniforms and protective gear are only needed once you decide to continue, and we will explain exactly what to get.

What ages do you teach?

There is a program for nearly every age: Little Ninjas for ages 4–6, Kids MMA and Boys MMA for ages 7–14, a teen girls program for ages 12–16, and MMA, Krav Maga and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for teens and adults. See them all on the Programs page.

Is martial arts training safe?

Safety comes first. Classes are led and supervised by experienced instructors, new students start with the basics, and partner drills are controlled and suited to the age group. Contact is introduced gradually, protective gear is used where needed, and you are always free to work at your own level.

Do you offer classes just for women?

Yes. Krav Maga Leviah is a women-only self-defense class, and there is a women-only Rock Steady Boxing class. We also run a program for girls and teens. You can see the times on the Schedule page.

How much does it cost?

Each program has several options: pay per class, a class pass, a monthly membership and a family plan. Monthly memberships have a one-time sign-up fee. The exact prices are listed under Membership Options on every program page, and we are happy to help you choose the best fit.

Can I train in more than one program?

Yes. The Unlimited membership gives you access to all classes and styles, so you can mix MMA, Krav Maga and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as often as you like. Families of three or more can also choose the family plan.

What is Rock Steady Boxing?

Rock Steady Boxing is a non-contact, boxing-inspired fitness program designed for people living with Parkinson's disease. Classes build strength, balance, speed and confidence in a supportive group. The women's and men's classes run on different days; see the Schedule.

Where are you, and how can I reach you?

We are at 1621 Route 202, Suite 4, in Pomona, NY, and welcome students from across Rockland County. Call 845-445-3656 or send us a message on the Contact page if you need help finding us or choosing a class.
